Description

Relax, enjoy the trip, and leave the stress to us.
We will pick you up with our van directly from your accommodation in the Catania area and take you to visit one of the most beautiful valleys in Sicily and the world: Pantalica. This stunning, surreal, and evocative place is full of history and nature.

We will show you the ancient necropolises carved into the rock thousands of years ago, the remains of ancient Sicilian populations, and the caves used as homes and even churches.

All of this is nestled in lush local vegetation and panoramic views shaped over millennia by the Calcinara and Anapo rivers.

Once we reach the valley floor, we will ford the stream and take a refreshing and restoring swim in the crystal-clear river waters.

We will then have a picnic together with friends, laughter, and fun.

After our break, we will continue our walk through nature and history before ascending the valley to return to Catania.

On the way back, we will also let you taste one of the typical Sicilian delights.

Tour Itinerary

We’ll visit the area of “Pantalica, valley of the Calcinara river” on the side of Sortino, an area famous for the archeological rests of some of the most ancient civilisations of the world, but also for its outstanding nature, made by caves, rapids, waterfalls and lush vegetation. .

How it works

We will pick you up with our van directly from your accommodation
You will pay 100% of your participation fee, in cash only.
Once all participants are gathered, we will head towards Sortino, the entrance to Pantalica (about a 70-minute drive).
Upon arrival, we will start our walk descending the valley through the wonderful natural pathways of Pantalica, seeing caves, necropolis, and other archeological points of interest.
When we get the river, at the bottom, we’ll take a break and we’ll dive into the river for a refreshing bath (if weather is good).
Around 12:30 PM, we will take a break for a picnic and eat together.
We will then continue our nature walk until we’ll go up the valley to return to the starting point.
We will get back in the van and head back to your accommodation.
On the way back, we will stop to let you taste a typical Sicilian delicacy.
Finally, we will return you to your accommodation and say goodbye.
